Consultant Biographies

We have a range of Consultants with experience at Director and Associate Director level and with skills across the range of speciality areas in which Consortia will need support.

Establishing appropriate Legal Structure – we are delighted to be working in partnership with Lockharts solicitors - a highly regarded firm that advised on the National GP Contract. Lockharts has a track record of supporting GPs and other independent practitioners over the past 15 years.


Development of strong governance and management structures

Our Associate is a highly experienced personal and organisational development consultant, trainer and coach with over 20 years of internal and external consultancy to the health service, primarily in community and acute care. She currently supervises a number of senior medical clinicians and recently has been facilitating PCT Boards and GPs as they prepare to transfer commissioning arrangements.

Building confidence with the patients and public

Our Associate is an experienced senior manager who has held a variety of Director roles in PCTs and Mental Health, Learning Disability and Substance Misuse services and at a senior level in Education, a Council and a Strategic Health Authority.  He has a track record of developing community based services to improve effectiveness and efficiency, increase value for money and reduce reliance on hospitals; systematically improving clinical and wider governance systems to ensure that services are safe and effective and in engaging stakeholders and working in partnership to deliver sustainable improvements.

Commissioning good quality services and cutting inefficiencies

Our Associates is a senior level operations manager with both public and private sector experience. He specialises in the business planning and commercial aspects of operating a successful organisation (business), the management of transition, efficiency and cost improvement, whilst staying focused on the patient as the customer. With Board level experience in the NHS, he has worked as a consultant with PCTs and Service Providers.

Developing long term strategies to ensure continuous improvement in services

Extensive NHS experience in both acute and primary care; our associate has a clinical background as a registered nurse and health visitor and has worked at executive level with GP commissioners in a large GP Fundholding Consortium.  Our Associate has a proven track-record in performance improvement and delivery – supporting the quality, productivity and innovation agendas in improving patient care and meeting performance related targets.

Identifying and working effectively with a wide range of partner organisations

Our Associate has over 10 years working at Director Level in health and local government. She has a track record of working in primary care and community services and is currently supporting Consortia to develop service specifications.  She has particular experience in partnership roles and in delivering integrated services.

Setting up robust finance and contracting systems

Our Associate has over 25 years’ experience in NHS management having worked in acute and community settings with clinical staff to plan and deliver services.  His areas of expertise include commissioning, information, strategic planning and policy implementation.  His involvement in creating and managing service contracts and SLAs began in the earliest days of this activity in the NHS, and he has lately contributed to the development of the current national standard contracts.

Developing leading edge service pathways

Our Associate has 18 years NHS senior management experience working in both the acute sector and with PCTs.  More recently she has been working as a consultant working on a variety of projects including as lead for an urgent care service redesign project which will deliver over £1m of savings for commissioners.  Her areas of expertise include clinical service redesign; developing and bidding for new business and project and commissioning specialist services.

Managing all aspects of commissioning including risk and decommissioning services

 

Using information to shape performance

A highly versatile project manager with a wealth of experience gained in the NHS working across primary & secondary care and social care sector.  A breadth of knowledge and experience of NHS information and clinical systems, including the analysis of complex data sets and reporting on trends and variances to board level management (for example communicating complex information as part of process re-design projects and benefit realisation). High level of computer literacy, including MS Excel, MS Access and SQL, as well as strong numerical, analytical and critical reasoning skills and the ability to present complex data sets for a range of audiences.  Qualifications include an MBA (distinction) involving Quantitative Business Analysis, Management Statistics, Financial Management and Management Accounting.
